Mews Houses

Ten two-storey well-designed family mews houses and a B1 office building, in a backland site in Tooting, with very good transport links.

The proposal improves the character of the site and the outlook and amenity for the neighbouring residential buildings and reduces significantly vehicle movements, noise and air pollution. Also improves the aesthetic and amenity of the Inglemere Road access driveway.

The mews houses are arranged as a linear terrace running east-west and with south facing
courtyard gardens. The news street is proposed with a rhythm of new trees along the northern boundary. The houses have a repeated rhythm of windows and doors in the traditional manner of a mews street, a rich and detailed zinc pattern that creates articulation and visual interest.

Green roofs and PV panels make part of the overall sustainability strategy.
