Fashioning Poplar is a £3.9 million fashion hub, developed by Poplar HARCA in partnership with London College of fashion,UAL, The Trampery and the Mayor’s London Regeneration Fund.
The refurbishment of disused locked-up garages to provide fashion business space and creative studio workshops, a garment manufacturing unit, design and tech spaces and a Double height public café and events space, there are over forty low-cost studios across two sites.
HERTALAN® Easy Cover 1.5mm thick EPDM membrane was installed to waterproof both the flat roof and rear south facing elevation of the building, with an area coverage of approximately 1,000 m2.Lima Construction Ltd was appointed by the client as the roofing contractor for the installation and HERTALAN was chosen as it provided an easy-to-install and cost-effective waterproofing solution and an aesthetic façade to the building.
The purpose of the membrane façade application is to celebrate a building mark and local impact that was launched at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The project officially opened in February 2020.
