Manor Place

The proposal was to retain the Victorian corner building facing Delverton Road and Manor Place. The existing building to be refurbished to incorporate commercial space at ground floor and basement levels with residential use on the upper floors. A roof and side extension form part of the proposal, linked by a new staircase that separates private from public access.

The existing rear areas of Manor House were demolished and replaced with a modern extension providing residential accommodation over three storeys plus a set back roof storey. Terraces, loggias and balconies and a communal courtyard provided private as well as communal amenity space for residents.

The residential accommodation would offer 9 units arranged over four floors and the commercial space would comprise 145 sqm at ground and 124 sqm (GIA) at basement level.

The vision was to design a contemporary building whilst keeping and respecting the existing corner building on Delverton Road/ Manor Place.
